Masami's Biography
Masami has worked as a teacher and facilitator in the field of personal transformation and development since 1999. Through her private practice, she has developed the Zenshin Method, empowering thousands of people to transform their lives by becoming experts in who they are so they can heal themselves, grow from their experiences, and expand their personal potential. An experienced somatic-body therapist, yoga teacher-trainer and applied linguist, Masami offers a unique framework for connecting the subtle “body language” of physical anatomy with breathing techniques, emotion, mind and spirit.
Masami was born and raised in Japan in a bi-cultural family, and she draws extensively on her blend of East and West cultural experience, recognizing the power of both scientific knowledge and intuitive understanding.
Masami works with clients on two principal levels.
- Providing tangible tools and knowledge to adjust and correct physical posture and restore natural balance.
- Educating individuals on how to listen consciously to their inner awareness so they can begin the process of healing and restoring their own health.
Masami strongly believes that we are each our own primary healer and expert. Her work is thus to serve as a guide, pointing out the road signs and connections we encounter as we traverse our life journey.
Masami holds a Master of Science in International Business from the University of Colorado-Denver, and a B.A. in International Affairs from the University of Colorado-Boulder.
Masami lives with her husband, writer and educator Chris Covey, in the Denver, CO area.
